Swazi Agate is a naturally banded form of Chalcedony found in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), known for its rich earthy tones, deep reds, purples, greys, and occasional translucent layers. It forms as silica-rich fluids settle in rhythmic bands within volcanic cavities, creating its distinctive patterning, subtle veining, and occasional crystalline pockets. Many pieces show natural fractures and pitting from their formation process, which remain visible even after polishing. These slabs have been cut and finished to a high gloss to highlight the internal banding and colour zoning while retaining their raw outer edges. You will receive the exact slab you select from the images.  When you purchase one of our slabs we will include a free holder.

  • SWAZI AGATE
Swazi Agate comes from Eswatini in southern Africa and is valued for its strong natural colour palette and expressive banding. The region’s volcanic history produces Agates with unusually saturated tones and complex internal structures. Metaphysically, Swazi Agate is believed to offer grounding, emotional steadiness, and a protective, stabilising presence. It’s often worked with for clarity, resilience, and a calm, centred mindset. Each piece carries the character of its origin, showing the layered geological story of the African Rift environment.
