Howlite is a naturally occurring borate mineral recognised for its white colouring and distinctive grey veining that resembles fine marble patterns. Howlite is traditionally associated with patience, clarity and a calm state of mind. Each holder is carved with a smooth concave top designed to securely support small to medium spheres. Howlite is found in continental evaporite deposits with other borate and evaporite minerals. It’s usually a white or light grey opaque and porous stone with grey, black or brown web-like streaks interlaced throughout the nodules. Howlite is believed to negate negative energy and its calming qualities are thought to relieve insomnia.
