As a faster alternative, most commercial Citrine is created through heat treatment—typically by baking Amethyst (purple quartz) or Smoky Quartz at 800–900°F (427–482°C) in controlled lab conditions. This mimics the Earth's transformative heat, accelerating the color change in mere hours or days to yield deeper, more uniform orange or reddish tones.
