Each piece has its own mix of colour zoning and structural texture, with a strong bright‑green UV reaction within the stone. These are rough, hand‑carved squares rather than perfectly geometrically shaped cubes measuring approximately 3cm. Volcano Agate is a trade name for a variety of Agate which shows traits of Uranyl Chalcedony - where green photoluminescence is detected under short wavelength uv light. The formation of volcanic agates is thought to occur due to late or post volcanic alteration or weathering. During this process, unusually high uranium content is incorporated into the Agate as uranyl ions, believed to be the cause of the stunning greenish photoluminescence occuring within the Chalcedony. Volcano Agate is considered a fiery, transformative energy, often used for deep grounding and balance. It is believed to support motivation, strength and transformation and overcome stagnancy and procrastination.
