Selenite is a crystalline form of gypsum that forms in sedimentary environments where mineral‑rich water evaporates, leaving calcium sulfate layers that slowly crystallise into clear, sheet‑like structures known as Window or Window Pane selenite. This transparent variety is sometimes called “Maria glass” and is valued for its clarity and natural fibre alignment. Polished Selenite is often believed to be a high‑frequency crystal associated with healing, protection, and energy amplification, and these slabs can be used as a simple charging plate, a clear window‑style portal piece, or as tray/plate for displaying crystals and small specimens. SELENITE
Calcium Sulfate, or satin spar, is formed due to evaporation along hot springs and clay. Selenite has a tabular crystal structure, with striations running its length. When polished, Selenite is silky and pearlescent, when raw it has a frosted, milky translucency. Also known as “Physical White Light”, Selenite is believed to cleanse and purify, provide clarity and protection. It is often used for its ability to charge and amplify your crystals; place your jewelry or crystals on Selenite overnight to recharge.
