This large Desert Rose specimen shows beautifully layered brown‑tan petals with soft, powdery white edges, forming an intricate natural rosette. Desert Rose is a gypsum formation created when water evaporates in sand‑rich environments, allowing gypsum blades to trap and bind fine grains into these distinctive flower‑like clusters. This specimen is naturally rosetted on both faces and presents beautifully from either orientation. Often regarded as a grounding spirit guardian, Desert Rose is used in meditation for stability, clarity and calm focus. This piece comes from Morocco, a region known for producing some of the world’s most defined and well‑formed gypsum rosettes.

DESERT ROSE
Desert rose is the name given to rosette formations of crystal clusters of gypsum, baryte or selenite, which contain an abundance of sand grains. The rosette crystal habit tends to occur when the crystals form in arid sandy conditions, such as the evaporation of a shallow salt basin. Known as a spirit guardian, Desert Rose is often used as a meditation tool to help stay grounded and balanced. A powerful healer, roses will also cleanse and charge the stones around it.
