It forms through the pseudomorphic replacement of crocidolite by quartz, preserving the original fibrous structure while gaining quartz’s durability. Closely related to Hawk’s Eye and Tiger’s Eye, it is distinguished by its cooler tones and moody, metallic shimmer.
